Hey, man!
I love the idea of your book. I recently wrote a book myself called “Passing Through: An Ex-Fundamentalist’s Pursuit of Personal Spirituality.” I think we come to varying conclusions, but that’s okay! We both recognize that Christianity as we know it has been somewhat hijacked and that the original message is in danger of being lost.
Anyway, I’d like to propose something to you. Feel free to refuse. I was wondering if you’d be interesting trading PDFs of our books. If so, I would be happy to review it on Amazon and, possibly, even do a video review on my YouTube channel. You would not be obligated to review my book, I simply offer it in an attempt to prove I’m not simply asking for a handout – I’ve been publishing and self-publishing for about ten years, so I know what that’s all about. In any case, I will be linking to your site from mine (www.craighartonline.com) and hope to keep in contact, as I think our messages are similar in some ways, although different in others.
Thanks for being out there and I wish you the best with your book launch!
Keep up the good work Jackson. You are on the right path.
Google K7VHQ and plow through some of my sites if you have time. There is a lot more to this than many understand… but many are to remain STUPID for now.
Hey man I’ve been watching some of your videos and stuff and I’m just kind of confused as to what makes you believe that there is no eternal damnation. If you could e-mail me what you do believe in as to the after-life of those of non believers that would be awesome. Thanks man
Hey Tanner, thanks for the comment. When you read the Scriptures in a literal translation from the Hebrew and the Greek, you see that eternal punishment was not written by the authors. Words like eternal and forever were really age-during which means an indefinite period of time. Words like Hell didn’t exist and four different words were translated by modern translators into our English word Hell. Lastly, God is love and love never fails. If eternal punishment is the fate for any of God’s most prized creation, sin wins and God could not overcome our sin.
But if Hell/ eternal punishment didn’t exist and all got to go to Heaven, what would be the point of Jesus coming on earth and suffering for all of mankind? And by the way, thanks for taking time out of your day to go back and forth with me on this
According to Paul, the wages of sin is death. Sin has consequences and those consequences are death, the most final thing we could possibly know. Jesus paid the price for our sin and brought mankind redemption and restoration with God. You ask a great question though… why did He have to come and die? I’ve asked that as well and I trust the Scriptures for these answers. I admit if it only boiled down to reason & logic, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. That being said, anything we can completely know (how we came to be, other galaxies, what happens when we die) isn’t really that special. I’m okay with not being able to figure Him out completely since He is after all, God. I guess I look at it like this: if I could know all His ways, I’d be as smart as He is.
Haha very true. If we knew all the answers we would be God… But anyways, in Luke 16:23 it says “and in Hades, BEING IN TORMENT etc…” I feel as though scripture is clear in representing that Hell is an actual physical place. This rich man died, went to Hades (Hell) and was in physical anguish. He even says “for I am in anguish in this flame.”
But if He restores them after they die and they didn’t have Jesus then there was no point for Jesus to have came to earth. But even if Jesus used Gehenna, the story of the rich man in Luke talking about the fire and its unquenchable fire should show that there is a physical torment.
The story of the rich man and Lazarus is a parable, read it closely. I write about it in great detail in my book and there are some good youtube videos explaining why it doesn’t mean eternal punishment.
This is an add-on to the last comment b/c we ran out of room.
Jesus was a guy yes who used parables and tons of symbolism and annologies.
But I believe that when Jesus used Gehenna which Gehenna was a fire burning perpetually in a valley where the garbage and refuse of the city was dumped, He was simply using a parable/annology/symbol of what Hell/Hades is like. The people would understand way better that it’s a place of never-ending fire and nasty smell, etc. And in the story of the rich man, yes it may sound like a parable but Jesus was explaining it. And He even explained that it’s a place of torment, and describing it to be such a bad place that the rich man wanted Lazarus to go tell the brothers because the rich man didn’t want his brothers to go there.
I’m glad you mentioned that. Here’s my problem with that interpretation: a temporary place would not represent a place of eternal punishment- in this scenario especially. They would have had no idea what He was talking about. Eternal punishment would have been a foreign concept as the O.T. doesn’t talk about it and Jesus only used the word Gehenna four times (eleven times total with the rest being repeats). If this really were the eternal fate for 90% of the world, don’t you think more time would have been spent discussing it? Entire books from every author in the Scriptures. The Apostle Paul for example, who wrote most of the New Testament, took time to write about women remaining silent in the church and men having short hair but never talks about Hell. Judgment yes but eternal punishment, no. Also, there are four words in the Bible translated as Hell: Gehenna, Hades, Sheol, and Tartarus. Read a literal translation and you will see that the modern church has hijacked the Good News with fear.
Hey Jackson, your pursuit for truth is rare these days and it’s much needed. Thank you for your investment with the youth so far in your life. I was deeply sorry to hear of the hurt you were caused by your former church and friends. No other way to say it than, that sucks.
It’s quite apparent that you are familiar with every verse concerning this doctrine in the Bible. I know quite a few, although I was surprised to hear about the translation errors. I come from a Baptist upbringing so you know what that means. I’m still trying to figure all this out myself.
Judgment is something the Bible is very clear on. We die once, then face judgment. (Heb. 9:27) Rather than being one who “has it all figured out – I’m right and you’re wrong” (because I used to be slightly that way, but am trying to shed that exterior), I’ll just pose some questions: Aside from the way Hell is translated, what about other mentions, of weeping and gnashing of teeth, where the worm does not die, chains, and darkness? What about when Jesus says in John 3:36, “If you believe in the Son you have everlasting life, but if you do not believe in the Son you shall not see life, for the wrath of God abides on him.” Jesus even said when He rose from the dead in Mark 16:16, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” What does condemned mean? God’s wrath is something that is talked about frequently from the prophets, to Jesus, to the apostles. God’s wrath on unrepentant sinners, right? Do you think Scripture says that after judgement God will give those a second chance and then all men God has created will be saved? Or maybe some will still reject Him? And then, what happens to them? Do they just cease to exist and an “eternal punishment” is not sealed for them? It’s as if they were never born maybe. I myself, cannot answer them all. It’s tough. Even tougher questions are what happens to aborted babies, or any living babies who die? David says in Psalm 51:5 that we are sinful from our mother’s womb and as Paul and Jesus said dozens of times, sin cannot enter Heaven. What happens to those who live in the Amazon who have never even heard the name Jesus? Maybe Romans 2:12-16 falls into place.
Lots of questions. I appreciate who you are and what you stand for. You have a beautiful family and a bunch of kids, (and youth) who are lucky to have you in their life.
Hi man listen I saw your channel on Youtube and many other things like that. I gave you a message there but I figured I’d give you one here to. You are correct I will say that God will eventually restore all of Mankind. In fact I will also tell you that in the King James version of the Bible the actually replaced the word “Aion” which translated I believe means “Age-long” to “Forever” or Eternal. So yes there will be judgment but once everybody has been corrected and paid their debt. We will be reconciled with Jesus Christ. I’m sorry to hear about what happened to you about your Church; it was however for good. Man meant that for Evil but God meant that for good. (Not saying you should hold grudges you should forgive them, if you haven’t already).
Also keep in mind that something you may not have considered is that Jesus actually is stated to have preached to the souls in Sheol. 1 Peter 3:18-19: For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom he also went and preached to the souls in sheol” – it seems that we have clear testimony of the Apostle Peter that Salvation is possible after this life-time. I can also give you more links that helped me. Anyway look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for the reply Eric and for the good advice. It took me a few months after it happened but I have forgiven and moved on. I’ve shared my story to bring light to this dangerous teaching that God will eternally punish any of His prized creation. God is love and lover never fails!
Very true. In fact Eternal punishment isn’t mentioned in any place in the Bible other than some of the New Testament in versions of the Bible (All except I believe YLT in English) so one of the reasons why the Jews don’t want anything to do with their Messiah is because people believe this doctrine. So therefore we need to get this lie told about him cleared up.
It’s really the most utterly Blasphemous lie ever told about Jesus Christ/God. So it’s good to expose this.
I actually learned this from a website and they totally debunked this ridiculous notion. It’s also a big relief because carrying around the burden that I had to get my father to believe in this lifetime always, always bothered me. So it’s very good to know that Jesus Christ has already won the battle a long time ago.
By the way I want to warn you right now that there are many false prophets who claim to be of God who have their stories (Basically of whacked out disney Land rides of the supposed visits to Hell). I just don’t want you to be descieved by these frauds and if you wish I’ll give you links to people I know who debunk these things and if you want I’ll give you them. Basically their names are Bill Weise, Mary Baxter, Victoria Nahale, Angelica Zambrano and a few others but since they decieve many people, I just want to warn you about them so that way you can be armed. (Not saying this is a war but still just so you can have answers), I’ll try to get it tommorrow.
I’m a skeptic to the core my friend. I don’t believe that any of those stories are true. I could be wrong but the truth is God is either love or He isn’t. I don’t believe there can be any in between.
Please, everyone, Google “God’s Eonian Purpose” and read the book online as this anwers many questions we all have. God had a complete plan for the ages He created. Hell and eternal punishment is totally misinderstood as the devil is so sly. Be persistant and you will get the right answers. John 3:27.

Thanks brother, many times we are unwilling to change what we’ve been taught as truth. We don’t even want to consider that we might be wrong.
The only person Who was right was killed because He spoke the truth and He is coming back for us soon.

What happens to the people that reject Christ? Or the people that aren’t in the book of Life?
God will judge them, correct, and restore- as He sees fit. He is a good Father and any good father would reconcile their child.
But if He restores them after they die and they didn’t have Jesus then there was no point for Jesus to have came to earth. But even if Jesus used Gehenna, the story of the rich man in Luke talking about the fire and its unquenchable fire should show that there is a physical torment.
